Eastern Bristlebird (5/11)

PASSERIFORMES: Dasyornithidae

Dasyornis brachypterus  

We were about 30 metres away. The bird was in the shade and had a sunlit puddle and wet ground back-lighting it so the conditions were not ideal for viewing or photography, but any view of this bird is a thrill.

We watched it for a minute and then as soon as we attempted to improve our position, it was gone.
